Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore, has been an Hollywood actor and author for a long time. She is also acclaimed by the critics. Sagittarius. The actress was born on the coast of North Carolina December 3, 1960. She's the eldest of three siblings, born to Peter Moore Smith who was a paratrooper. The mother of her child Anne works as a psychotherapist. She's of English and Scottish heritage. Because of her father's work, the Moore family was often moved and she had to work hard to make relationships or keep them. Moore started acting in plays in the year she attended Frankfurt American High School when her family relocated to Germany. She furthered her education in Boston University, graduating in 1983 with a B.F.A. Thesis in Theater. Moore's professional career started with her debut in New York with Off-Broadway Theater immediately following graduating. In 1985 Moore made her screen debut on The Edge of Night. She took on in the roles of Frannie as well as Sabrina Hughes in As the World Turns. This was the show that became her first break. The show aired up to 1988, and she won a Daytime Emmy Award for her performance. In 1990, her first film appearance came in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie. The film was later criticized as a poor budget production. Short Cuts (1993), 3 Women (1997), and 3 Women (1997) were all produced with Robert Altman. The former was critically acclaimed and earned her a number of nominations for the film. Moore was first cast as a lead for the film Safe (1996). Steven Spielberg, who was director of Jurassic Park: The Lost World in 1997 and one of that year's biggest earning films, chose Moore as the lead actress. The actress received an SAG Award nomination for Magnolia during 1999. In 2002, she co-starred with The Hours which got nominated for nine Academy Awards with Nicole Kidman as well as Meryl Streep.
